Kristin L. Omvig

Attorney

Kristin is a third generation Montanan. Born and raised in Eastern Montana on the family ranch, she developed a strong belief in individual property rights at an early age.  Since 1992, she has actively practiced law concentrating on real estate, property rights, land use and commercial transactions and litigation. Her practice has evolved into representing primarily private property owners’ interests. Kristin practiced in Billings for twenty years and most recently in Kalispell.  Her interests include riding competitive cutting horses.

Ann Thamert

Paralegal

Ann Thamert received her juris doctorate degree from George Washington University in 1983, graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1978, and graduated from The Institute of Paralegal Training in 1979. She has more than 30 years’ experience as a paralegal working for small and large firms, handling complex transactional, real estate and litigation matters. Ann is also skilled at estate planning, probate and water law. In her free time, Ann enjoys the Montana outdoors and can often be found hiking, backpacking, and cross-country skiing in various locations throughout the Flathead Valley. Her daughter Katy joins her in many of her adventures.

Catherine Vandemoer

Watershed Management Specialist

Catherine brings decades of specialized experience in water rights law, natural resource management, and federal reserved water rights to the firm. Her career spans work with tribal governments, federal agencies, and private landowners across the western United States, with particular depth in Montana water law and the complex intersection of state, federal, and Indian water rights. She has represented clients before state legislative committees, water courts, and Congressional hearings, and contributed to landmark efforts including salmon recovery in the Mid-Columbia basin and implementation of the Big Horn Decree on the Wind River Indian Reservation. Catherine is completing a book on federal reserved water rights management in Montana.
